Low cloud over Salitre last Friday |
The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul
Wednesday 08 April 2015, Gaucin, cloudy, frequent light rain, light-fresh E-SE wind, 9C
Very little to report over the last week as a combination of poor weather and other activities have kept me away from birding and a succession of easterly winds have blocked raptor movement over Gaucin! Since the weekend it's been back to winter temperatures but it was good to hear a Blue Rock Thrush in full song on the roof of the chemist in Calle Convento yesterday morning and there have been Short-toed and Booted Eagle, plus 4 Common Raven, around and about.
