| Gaucin and Sierra Bermeja from El Hacho |
The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. Tuesday 02 December 2014, Gaucin, sunny, light-fresh NW wind, 17C
Although reaching a pleasant 17C, out of the sun and in the northerly wind it felt a bit cooler. A walk up the east slope of El Hacho from 0930-1100hrs started well with 3 Common Crossbill in pine trees opposite the petrol station; also seen were 45+ Griffon Vulture, Common Kestrel, Common Raven, Eurasian Jay, Great-spotted Woodpecker, 2 Song Thrush, Meadow Pipit, Stonechat, Sardinian Warbler, Blackcap and Common Chiffchaff; Green Woodpecker and Eurasian Nuthatch were heard.
