One of the two Meadow Pipits |
The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul
Wednesday 12 November 2014, Gaucin, mostly cloudy, rain showers, light W-NW wind, 15C
A succession of weather fronts from the NW over the past couple of days has brought cool, damp conditions to the area and birding opportunities have been few and far between. This afternoon from 1700-1800hrs a walk along the top section of the Camino de Gibraltar produced 15+ Griffon Vulture over Sierra Crestellina, Song Thrush (in song), 2 Meadow Pipit, 3 Black Redstart, Eurasian Robin, 6+ Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff sp., Sardinian Warbler and Serin.
