The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul
Saturday 19 April 2014, Gaucin, mostly cloudy, light-fresh W wind, 15C
Feeling chilly today after a couple of weeks with temperatures in the low-mid 20s. The wind has finally changed to a more westerly direction, which will probably bring rain sometime soon. At 1015hrs there were 9 Black Kite over the village and at 1030hrs a sub-adult Egyptian Vulture accompanied by a pale morph Booted Eagle. A Common Crossbill reported from the pines at the top of the village late afternoon by Tim.
