The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul
Friday 04 May, mostly cloudy, little or no wind, 14C: 1830-1900hrs, whilst collecting firewood (still necessary in May!) alongside the Rio Genal below Gaucin there were 35 Bee-eater swooping around the avocado trees, also several Griffon Vulture, 2 Turtle Dove, a Spotted Flycatcher and a Short-toed Eagle. The pair of Grey Wagtail are still around Calle Convento and were in the small callejon behind our house yesterday evening.
