Wednesday 02 November, 0700hrs, Gaucin, mostly cloudy, light-fresh S-SE wind: Had an early morning look for the Eagle Owl at Gaucin castle but the was no sign of it, just a few Crag Martin, Sardinian Warbler, Chiffchaff, Song Thrush and the inevitable posse of Black Redstart! Nice sunrise; see not very good photo, but it gives the general idea! This afternoon went to the west slope of El Hacho but the rain started before I could get out of the car so only managed Griffon Vulture, Southern Grey Shrike, Stonechat, Black Redstart, Corn Bunting, Greenfinch, Blackcap and Sardinian Warbler.
The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul
