The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul
Thursday 09 December, track behind Venta Solera between Benarraba and Algatocin, 1030-1130hrs, mostly sunny: went for a nice walk on a wonderful warm day, reaching 21C; saw plenty of Griffon vultures, Black redstart, Stonechat, Crag martin, Goldfinch but the best sighting was a Rock sparrow. Hope to go again early tomorrow morning as it's a great birding location, easily accessible and with a good variety of habitats.
