The aim of this blog is to record bird sightings in and around Gaucin. We have a fantastic variety of birds that live in and visit the area and it would be great to have somewhere where we can publish observations for others to see. If you'd like to contribute on a regular basis please ask and I can add you as an author or send me your sightings or other observations by email pmconvento@gmail.com (the usual stuff...date, bird, location, etc.) and I'll add them to the blog. Happy birding! Paul

This morning whilst walking between San Martin de Tesorillo and Castellar de la Frontera I saw my first Black Kite of the year (though it doesn't count as a 'Gaucin tick'!), also a Short-toed Eagle, 20+ Griffon Vulture, Common Buzzard, 3x Common Kestrel, Crested Lark, lots of Stonechat, Cetti's Warbler (heard), Zitting Cisticola, Serin, Cirl Bunting and Corn Bunting (plenty of them singing).
